Rooftop Venues Provide Prime Viewing Areas for Events

People are resourceful. When they want a better view, they simply climb higher. Take the buildings near Wrigley Field in Chicago, for example. Back in 1914, Cubs fans started to enjoy climbing to the roofs of residential buildings around the ballpark to root for their team. Neighbors would meet in informal gatherings to watch baseball and catch up on each other’s lives. They’d bring homemade sandwiches and bottled drinks to share, along with lawn chairs and blankets. Getting invited to one of these rooftop events was something to which the building tenants and guests looked forward.

A Modern Twist to an Old Pastime

Fast-forward to the present. Rooftops have graduated from informal meeting spaces to full-fledged event viewing venues, complete with the amenities today’s entertainment client has come to expect. Comfortable seating, unobstructed gathering and viewing areas, state-of-the-art sound systems, mood-setting lighting, and drink and food menus complete with fan favorites set apart today’s top-of-the-roof experience as truly a step above.

Whether watching sporting events, concerts, fireworks, or other special events, viewers can enjoy a unique vantage point away from the crowds found inside stadiums, parks, and other large-capacity venues. But the game-day perks are all there. Hungry for a jumbo hot dog with all the fixings, or maybe a gourmet black bean burger? You got it. Want a soda, light beer, sangria, or bottled water? You can grab one without missing any of the on-field action.

What’s more, guests can enjoy the fun with a smaller group as they look down on the action, away from rowdy crowds and drunken fans. There are no long lines at the snack stand or restroom areas. On a roof, amenities are easier to get to, leading to a stress-free, quality entertainment experience in a one-of-a-kind setting.

Benefits of Rooftop Viewing

Foremost on the list would be an experience to write home about! Rooftops provide a unique view of a city, which is something that few people get to see.

Another benefit is being able to enjoy games and events in a more intimate setting. People who like live sports and entertainment along with game-day excitement, but who do not want to fight the large crowds, will appreciate these venues.

In addition to being able to enjoy all the conveniences of a concert or a game without having to put up with the hassle, a rooftop viewing area provides groups with a great space for celebrating special occasions. Social events including birthdays, engagement parties, and bar/bat mitzvahs are great fun atop a building.

Businesses looking for something unique and memorable can also rent these venue spaces for their corporate functions. Everything from a small birthday party to an employee appreciation ceremony, can take place on the top of a building that’s been set up to accommodate groups.

Those early Cubs fans had it right: the view is definitely better from atop a building! In a sense they were pioneers, paving the way for today’s fans to enjoy a unique experience in comfort, while still feeling the excitement of live events.
